Holiday Recipes
During the Holidays, food and drink bring everyone together. There are always signature cocktails and full bars at every party. What if you don’t drink though? You get a club soda and lime or water. I worked as a mixologist for years and still love creating tasty drinks, however, I don’t drink alcohol anymore. I wanted to share a couple of alcohol free, cbd infused adult beverages for the holidays and my favorite cbd infused cranberry sauce.
I’ve been sharing how I am preparing my body to try to conceive and that includes eliminating toxins in my life. Alcohol is a huge toxin and it is important for men to reduce their intake too. There are several studies showing the impacts of alcohol on sperm and how it is linked to the baby’s heart health. We are hosting a couple of holiday parties this year and I am so excited to have fun options for everyone there!
CBD infused Pomegranate Mocktail
This drink is incredibly refreshing and would be great for a punch bowl or an individual drink. There are also a few options with this one. The pomegranate juice with sparkling water is the best for a punch bowl. The IZZE is the sweetest but has no added sugar but all of them are delicious. Pomegranate is also loaded with antioxidants and may help fight cancer. Cbd has anti-inflammatory properties, helps fight cancer and reduces anxiety. Click here to read about more benefits of CBD.
Ingredients:
Pomegranate juice
Sparkling water
OR
IZZE Sparkling Pomegranate (I bought mine at Cosco but they are at most grocery stores)
OR
SanPellegrino Sparkling Pomegranate and Orange
Pomegranate seeds
Sage
Crushed Ice
Directions: Equal parts pomegranate juice and sparkling water over crushed ice. Stir in 1 dropper full of Orange CBD. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and sage. Sub pomegranate juice and sparkling water for IZZE or SanPellegrino.
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
There is nothing like a hot cup of coco on a cold winter day. Cocoa has amazing health benefits! It has antioxidants and is good for the soul. Peppermint essential oil is antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and helps with indigestion. You can use peppermint essential oil OR this amazing peppermint CBD!
Ingredients:
2 cups milk of choice (I used oat)
4 tsp organic cocoa powder
1/2 tsp stevia
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 drop peppermint EO or 1 dropper of Koi Peppermint CBD
3 candy canes or 8 of the minis
whipped cream
Directions: Combine milk, cocoa, stevia and vanilla in small pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Turn off and stir in 1 drop of peppermint essential oil.
Garnish: Dip rim of mug in crushed candy canes, top with whipped cream and a mini candy crane.
Orange Cranberry sauce with CBD
I never knew that I liked cranberry sauce until I found this recipe last year from the Medical Medium. I slightly adapted it to include CBD. This recipe is loaded with nutrient foods including blueberries, cranberries and apple.
Ingredients:
2 cups cranberries
3/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 red apple, diced
Juice from 1 orange
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 cinnamon sticks
Directions:
Place all the ingredients in a medium-sized pot and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook uncovered. Stir every few minutes for 20-30 minutes until the mixture has thickened. If you like your sauce smooth, place in blender and blend and return to pot. Stir in 1 dropper full of Orange CBD.
Hot Apple Cider
This one is not oil infused but you can ad a drop of cinnamon, cardamon, or orange CBD as well! I pick my favorite cider, warm it up and add a delectable garnish.
Ingredients:
Apple cider
1 apple
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tbsp cinnamon
cinnamon sticks
Directions: Preheat over to 250. Slice apple into thin slices, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Place on parchmentment paper on baking sheet and bake for 45 min - 1hr. place your favorite cider in a pot and slowly warm. Stir in oil of choice. Serve in mug when at good drinking temperature and garnish with baked apple slice and cinnamon stick.
I love this time of year and getting festive. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice on having fun and mixed drinks because you aren’t consuming alcohol. I’d love to here your toxin free holiday recipes as well!
